This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes how Erin Brockovich, Inc. (referred to in this Privacy Policy as the “Company”, “we”, “us” and “our”) collects, uses, shares, and retains personal data that you provide to us, or that we collect, when you use the Company’s websites located at www.brockovich.com and www.communityhealthbook.com (the “Sites”), and the services, content and other materials made available on the Sites (the Sites and these services, content and other materials collectively constituting, the “Service”).

- Information We Collect from You through the Service
- Information You Voluntarily Provide through the Service. We collect personal data you voluntarily provide to us when you use our Service. If you contact us with a request for information about the Service, or sign up for our newsletter, we collect your first and last name and email address. If you contact us to report an issue through the Community Healthbook, we will collect your first and last name, mailing address, e-mail address, mobile telephone number, and information about the issue you are reporting, which may include any personal data that you provide when describing the applicable issue.
- Information Automatically Collected Through the Service. We may automatically collect information about you when you use the Service. For example, if you access the Service through a computer, we will automatically collect information such as your browser type and version, IP address, computer and connection information and standard web log information. If you access the Service through a mobile device, we may also be able to identify the location of your mobile device. You may choose not to share your location details with us by adjusting your mobile device’s location services settings. - Information You Post on the Service.If you post information on interactive areas of the Service that information may be collected and used by the Company, other users of the Service, and the public generally. We strongly recommend that you do not post any information through the Service that allows strangers to identify or locate you or that you otherwise do not want to share with the public.
- Surveys. We may offer users of the Service an opportunity to participate in surveys. Participation in these surveys is voluntary. If you choose to participate in a survey, we may ask you to provide personal data, such as your name and email address. Depending on the nature of the survey, we may use this information to send the survey results to the participants and third parties.
- Information Collected by Third Parties Through the Service The Service may include links to other websites and other content from third party businesses. These third party businesses may use cookies, web beacons or other similar technology to collect information about you. The Company does not have access to or control over these third parties or the cookies, web beacons or other technology that these third parties may use. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties or the content on any third party website. - How We Use Your Information
- Fulfillment of Requests. If you provide your information to us for a particular purpose we will use the information you provide for the applicable purpose, for example, if you provide us with your email address so that we can send our newsletter to you, we will use the information you provide for purposes of sending you our newsletter, or if you contact us about a business opportunity, we will use your information to contact you regarding that business opportunity.
- Operation of the Service. We may use the personal data we collect in connection with the Service to operate and offer the Service to you, including for purposes of ensuring technical functionality, and otherwise to provide and optimize the Service. - To Combat Misuse of the Service. We may use your personal data to protect the Service and your rights, and the rights of others, to enforce the terms and conditions applicable to Service, and to prevent prohibited or illegal activities.
- How We Share Your Information. We do not provide, sell, or rent personal data we collect through the Service to any third parties for their own marketing purposes. In the event the Company wants to provide, sell or rent your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes in the future, we will notify you and you will have an opportunity to affirmatively opt-in to permitting third parties to use your information for their own marketing purposes. - Third Party Processors and Third Party Service Providers. - Business Transfers; Bankruptcy. - Security of Personal Data. We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative measures to safeguard all personal data we process and to prevent unauthorized access and disclosure of any personal data. You acknowledge that the Company processes your personal data at your own risk.
- Transferring Personal Data to the U.S. The Company has its headquarters in the United States. The personal data we collect from you will be processed in the United States, and, subject to applicable law, may be transferred to and processed in other countries outside the United States. The standards and laws that apply to the protection of personal data in the United States or these countries may be different than the ones that are applicable to the country where you are located.
- Children. The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We will not knowingly collect personal data from any child under the age of 13, unless a parent or guardian consents to our collection and processing of this information. - Data Retention. We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected the information, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, accounting, or reporting requirements. When determining the appropriate retention period, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the information, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your information, the purposes for which we process your information and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
- Updates to this Privacy Policy. We may change, modify or amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes to this Privacy Policy by posting the amended terms on the Service at least thirty (30) days before the effective date of the changes. If you do not agree with the proposed changes, you should discontinue your use of the Service prior to the time the new Privacy Policy takes effect. If you continue using the Service after the new Privacy Policy takes effect, you will be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.
